Google officially launched the process of rewinding the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program on Friday, according to sources familiar with the company’s decision-making. Fox News Digital.
High-tech giant A February company memo analysed whether other initiatives were compliant with President Donald Trump’s executive order targeting public and private sector DEIs, abolishing the diversity goal of hiring more employees from “undervalued groups” and targeting other initiatives.
Google is currently completing “equity and inclusion employee training that the company has previously conducted.”

At the all-staff meeting on February 12, Google’s former Diversity Director Melony Parker, who serves as Google’s vice president of engagement following her LinkedIn profile, told employees that the company is “updating” training programs that include “DEI content.” The Guardian reported.
“What’s not changing is that we’ve always hired the best people for our job,” Parker reportedly said at the meeting.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai also reportedly told employees that the company “really cares about hiring a diverse workforce” but that it needs to change its policies in accordance with Trump’s executive order.
“We endure our values, but we have to follow the legal direction depending on how they evolve,” Pichai said.

Trump signed Presidential Order It bans DEIs from the federal government and requires that all federal contractors prove that they do not promote DEIs when they take office.
Pichai’s comments present a bit of a face on Dei’s subject. In 2020, he announced that the company would try to increase by 30% by 2025.
“Lising the personal accounts of Black Advisory Leadership Group and Black+Google members has reinforced the reality facing our Black community. This is where systemic racism permeates every aspect of life, from interactions with law enforcement, access to housing and capital, healthcare, education, and workplace.”
