NBC’s Meet the Press host Kristen Welker asked Sen. Lindsey Graham if he was “trying to distract Epstein’s issues” during a fierce exchange Sunday that former President Obama may have directed the US intelligence agency to hint Trump in the Russian Agate scandal.
“You’re trying to clean something like this under the rug, but that’s not right!” Graham said.
The debate broke out over a recent allegation filed by National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard allegedly revealed declassified intelligence report documents and declassified 2020 House Intelligence Email Committee reports on a decline day. Obama administrationthe then-president ordered the US Intel agency to change its assessment of Russia’s attempts to intervene in the election, particularly to help the election of Donald Trump.
The DNI director said the intelligence agency had originally concluded that Russia was not trying to help Trump get elected. Gabbard indeed claimed that the agency had evidence that Putin was hoping Hillary Clinton would win the presidency. Gabbard said this isAn unpleasant plot. ”

“The unpleasant conspiracy we have just made public to Americans — the accomplices, biases, politicians, the mainstream media and the silence of those directly involved in this speaks volume.” Gabbard told Fox & Friends.
President Trump has called on Obama and others to face “very serious consequences” by “trying to equip them with elections.” Obama issued a rare official response to Trump, blasting the claims as “strange” and “a weak attempt at distraction.”
“The strange allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction. Documents issued last week cut the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election, but they didn’t manipulate the vote well,” he said. “These findings were confirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Email Committee led by then-chairman Marco Rubio,” an Obama spokesman said.
Welker claimed he spoke to former Republican CIA officer Susan Miller, who has firmly denied Gabbard’s claim. The NBC Anchor also pointed to John H. Durham, a special adviser appointed by Trump. John H. Durham concluded in 2023 that there was no political interference in the Russian Gate investigation. She also performed a clip of Graham himself in 2017, saying that the Russians intervened in the election to embarrass Hillary Clinton.

“There is only one person in Washington who knows that Russia has doubts about what Russia has done in our elections,” Graham said at the time.
The South Carolina Senator responded that Gabbard’s report contains information that had not been previously disclosed, and that the allegations require special advisor investigations.
“Well, what I’m saying is you left a lot here… Mueller’s research was bent to the heart and rotten. The Washington Post and the New York Times received the Pulitzer Prize to report on Trump’s relationship with Russia. It was all BS,” Graham said.
Graham said he did not seek former President Obama to be charged with treason, but the special adviser said he should look into whether the former president ordered the Intelligence Report to be changed because he didn’t like the outcome. He lamented that so many lives were turned upside down by Mueller’s investigation, and accused Welker of trying to wipe out the administration’s findings “under the rug.”
“For years, months, weeks, people have turned their lives upside down, chasing Mueller’s story of Trump in bed with the Russians, Trump’s campaign was conspiring with the Russians… you’re trying to clean things like this under the rug.
