Greece v Scotland Match Preview

Scotland is looking to keep their position in the top tier of the international league when they face Greece in the first leg of the promotion/relegation playoffs on Thursday.

Steve Clark’s Tartan army is intended to make a splash at the top level of international football after reaching the final two European championships, but they will have to stay in League A to maintain their reputation over World Cup qualifiers.

Until the last three games of the campaign, Scotland appeared to aim to instantly return to the second tier after losing each of the first five games.

However, after scoring his first point in a goalless draw with Portugal in October, midfielder John McGinn brought victory in Croatia and Poland, securing his third spot in A1.

Greece also has the goal of reaching the top tier for the first time after being unfortunate to finish running in League B2.

They are confident when welcoming Scotland as it envelops an impressive victory for the three lions at Wembley, winning six of the last seven in all competitions.
