“Grey’s Anatomy” star Eric Dane remains hopeful despite ALS diagnosis

Eric Dane Ready to go on extreme measures to fight ALS.

“I’m very hopeful…I don’t think this is the end of my story,” he said. “And I’m going to bring that idea to me, whether that’s the case.

Dr. Cudkowicz said the risk factors behind the disease can include anything from environmental concerns such as lake plastic and bacteria to sports injuries.

“We consider ALS to be more common in people in certain sports like soccer and soccer, so we are worried about head trauma. We are worried about pesticides too. Being in the military is a risk factor,” she said. “These are things we know, but there is much more that we don’t know.

“There are people from all over the world working on this,” she said, referring to ALS research. “Interest artificial intelligence And the other imaging technologies, that’s what excites me, and I think it all comes in a year or two, if not faster. ”

Dane, who revealed the diagnosis in April, said it aired on Monday in another segment of the interview.

“At the time I was not thinking about it,” he told Sawyer. “Maybe I was texting too many times and I thought my hands were tired. A few weeks later I realized that it got a little worse. I went and saw the hand specialist who sent me to another hand specialist. I went and saw the neurologist.

“I have one functional arm,” he said. “My left side is working. My right side is completely stopped working. (my left arm) is on the way. Maybe a few months, and even more months, I don’t have my left hand either. I’m calm.”

He said he could walk for now, but added, “I’m worried about my feet.”

Dane admitted that he would “never forget” the moment he was diagnosed.

“I will never forget these three letters (ALS). It’s the second time I’ve woken up,” he said. “That’s not a dream.”

The actor shares two daughters, Billy, 15 and 13-year-old Georgia with his wife. Rebecca Gay Heartsaid he began to notice many of the effects of his illness during a boat trip with his daughter a few months ago.

After jumping into the water, Dane (a former competitive swimmer) quickly realised that he was unable to swim.

“(Georgia) pulled me back into the boat,” Dane said. “I just seemed sad.”
