Hakeem Jeffries dodges questions in Mamdani’s report on university applications

Hakeem Jeffries, a house minority leader, New York Times Report New York City mayoral candidate Zoran Mamdani was identified as African-American and Asian in his university application, and reportedly encouraged attacks from the mayor’s competitors.

“Anyone who will become New York City’s next mayor needs to clarify specific plans to ensure that working-class communities, including working-class communities, still have a place in our great cities,” Jeffries continued.
“The cities we both love are changing dramatically in terms of opportunities for working families and middle class people to continue calling homes,” he said.

A cyber attack at Columbia University in late June exposed school sensitive information to hackers, making the mum tick application available in the ages.

Healy said that the outlet received the information after it was stolen in a cyber attack, but “The Times does not rely solely on publishing information from such sources or make decisions,” and that it examined the application with Mamdani herself before publishing the story.
