Halil leads New Columbia protests after release of immigration detention

Anti-Israel activist Mahmoud Khalil returned to Columbia University on Sunday to lead another protest march After his release From the immigration detention facility on order by a judge.
Halil was seen being respected in New York City and gave a speech mentioning that the Trump administration would attempt to detain him and expel him.
“Well, who is Mahmoud Khalil?” Claril said. “It was the administration that did its best to portray me as a violent person. Mahmoud Khalil is a human rights advocate. Mahmoud Khalil is a freedom fighter. Mahmoud Khalil is a father and husband.
He called this latest protest the beginning of a “longer battle for justice.”

“The wave of crackdown that the Trump administration launched in my detention was intended to silence the movement for the liberation of Palestine,” Halil said. “It was meant to scare people into silence. The US government was meant to divert us from the fact that it was a killing plane in Palestine and around the world. But they failed completely. Millions of people spoke even louder. It’s been my long-lasting experience, regardless of personal costs, regardless of personal costs.
Additional footage throughout social media showed him raising the Palestinian flag and leading the chant “Colombia, Colombia, you can’t hide. You support genocide.”

Halil has been arrested In Colombia over anti-Israel activities on campus in March, an immigration judge ruled that his campus protests could be taken from the country based on a memo from Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who said he was in conflict with the interests of US foreign policy.
Rubio cited the provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act to justify his discovery, and US District Judge Fabiartz later ordered his secretary to use his resolve to deport Halil.

However, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has added a second reason for continuing to detain Halil and attempting to deport him. DHS is said to have omitted important information from the green card application about the group he belongs to, including the apartheid sale at Columbia University.

Fabiartz ordered Halil on Friday Released on bail After the Immigration Detention Center in Jena, Louisiana determined that Halil was not considered a flight risk.
