Haney calls on Theofimo for “racist remarks,” but Turki Aralsif’s plan points to Ennis and Garcia’s rematch
Devin Haney posted to X today saying that he was “tiredTheofimo Lopez and his “Racist remarks.” He asked Turki Aralschuff to cause a fight between them. Haney wants to put Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) in his place.

Unfortunately, for Haney (32-0, 15 Ko), it doesn’t happen anytime soon. Turki already has plans for Lopez to challenge Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis for the IBF and WBA Welterweight titles. That matchup will likely happen unless the boots reject the idea due to his still undetermined goal of becoming an indisputable champion at 147.
At a press conference Thursday, Turki said he was interested in having a rematch between Devin and Ryan Garcia. Given how inadequately both fighters fought on the May 2nd card, it is dangerous for Turki to delay Garcia-Haney’s rematch.
Lopez: Is it too dangerous for Haney?
It would be a bad idea to have Devin fight Theofimo. Lopez hits too hard, knocking out Haney or looking good as he did to Arnold Barboza Jr. and Josh Taylor. Lopez has too much talent for Haney, and he defeats him, ruining plans for a rematch with Ryan.
Teofimo got mad Many people who made recent comments while training with their father. He said Terrence Crawford didn’t want to fight him, “Where is that (n-word)?” Lopez probably used racial slur to get angry. That’s enough to make Crawford want to fight him. That approach doesn’t work.
Crawford is focused on getting the best fight he can in the smallest amount of time left in his career, and Theofimo isn’t nearing payday, big enough to allow him to be seduced. Canelo Alvarez, David Benavides, Altul Betterbiev, Dmitry Biboll and Jaron Ennis are Crawford’s money battle.
Haney needs to stick to Garcia’s rematch. If that doesn’t happen next, he should take on another old veteran and make sure he doesn’t move as much as he did during his collision with Ramirez.
I’m tired of Teho and his racist comments. @turki_alshikh Let’s make it happen @teofimolopez 147😤
