“Hee Haw” star Gailard Sartain dies at 81 due to natural causes at home

Gailard Sartain from “Hee Haw” star He’s dead. He was 81 years old.
The actor who also appeared in “Mississippi Burning” and “Buddy Holly Story” passed away at his home on Thursday from natural causes.
“Everyone has a story of Gerard telling a smile. Keep telling his story,” said Mary, his wife of 36 years.

Salten participated “Hee Haw” Cast in 1972. He appeared on the show for 20 years as a variety of characters, including Orville the Cook and Clerk Maynard.
He also portrayed Willie Billy Honey in a spin-off between 1978 and 1979. Lulu Roman, Kathie Lee Gifford and Misty Rowe also starred in the spinoff.

In addition to “Hee Haw,” Salten appeared in nine feature films directed by Alan Rudolph: “Lordoo,” “Equinox,” “Modern,” “Love,” “Love,” “Songwriter,” “Crisis of Extinction,” “Pick Me,” “Trouble,” and “Made in Heaven.”

During an interview with Tulsa World Newspaper In 2017, Salten told the outlet, “I enjoyed working with Rudolph because it only let me loose.

Salten’s best career was his role as a racist sheriff “Mississippi Burning” It was released in 1988.
In a world interview with Tulsa, Salten admitted that it is difficult to be cast in the same role.

“No one likes being typecast as a barefoot hillbilly, so when I had the opportunity to do other roles, I was happy to do it. I was cast in it and turned things around like that.

Salten was born in 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The actor is survived by his wife, children Sarah, Esther and Ben, granddaughter Chloe, and his great grandson, Teddy.
