Highlights of the world’s first humanoid robot kickboxing tournament

China recently held a kickboxing tournament for humanoid robots, bringing all the highlights together in one place.

Six Unitree G1 humanoid robots and the humans operating them fought for the top spot called “the world’s first combat competition featuring only humanoid robots.”

Each “fighter” is a Unitree G1 EDU model, the most advanced robot in Unitree’s G1 lineup, armed with special combat training such as straight punches, hooks, kicks and knees.

These robots can be controlled by voice commands, motion sensing, or remote control. Unitree says each control method has its advantages and disadvantages. Remote controls are used to control robots in this competition because they have lower latency and are easier to learn than voice commands.
