Medium house The New York Democrat has criticized the New York City Democratic candidate for mayor, Assemblyman Zoran Mamdani.
“Socialist Zoran Mamdani is too extreme to lead New York City. His entire campaign was built on the last thing New York needs: the unattainable promises and higher taxes,” DN.Y. Rep. Laura Gillen said Wednesday.
“Beyond that, Mamdani called for police to be refunded, demonstrating a deeply disturbing pattern of unacceptable anti-Semitism comments he hates when anti-Semitism is surged. He is an absolute wrong choice for New York.”
This is the first pushback from a Democrat official to Mamdani’s astounding victory in the first round of the major tally of New York City’s ranked optional votes.
