I lived with Alexa+ for a week. This is how it went (2025)

Alexa+ can answer more complex questions quickly, even when you ask them and give them more complex answers. She usually manages to answer all my questions. “Hmm, I don’t really know how to answer that.” She even answered the seemingly simple questions, such as on a cloudy zoo day, or where you can book a dinner table, or if Kesha sells tickets for a tour. Alexa+ will provide you with accurate calendar details. Google Speaker It has dominated my home for the past year. I also like the ability to access past conversations through the Alexa app. They are grouped by the first question I asked, and you can easily skim the conversation and see what Alexa’s answer is.

Additionally, Alexa+ uses the camera to recognize other members of the house when you set up a profile. My echo show shows “Good morning, Nena” when I approach them and suggest things in your section of the homepage where I remember what I want to do, such as aviation arts or going to the zoo. Alexa+ also did a good job ignoring her name when casually mentioning her in the conversation, but my first thought was not looking at the camera, but my further test found that even if I saw her correctly, she was pretty good at ignoring her name if it was in the middle.

Alexa+ is not perfect yet, she is not perfect. I have come across some hiccups. For example, when asked about the nearest doughnut shop, she offered me a store in the city where I live, even though I was currently in another city. However, these issues were easily improved by providing her with more context. Her most interesting answer is when I was looking for weather at the zoo and trying to see if she knew she would refer to the San Diego Zoo, and she gave me the weather in Zaa, Japan. But the next time I asked about the weather in San Diego, and about what I would wear to the zoo, she correctly guessed the zoo I was talking about.

I can usually do all the original questions I do with Alexa+, but there are so many new things to try.
