Portugal manager Abel Ferreira said this week he hopes to extend his contract with the Serie A club until 2027.
“I know Intermiami players like (Lionel) Messi and (Luis) Suarez are very strong,” Captain Gustavo Gomez said. “But we work hard to get three points and qualify, which will be a difficult game.

Midfielder Anibal Moreno is out for Palmeiras, who has thigh issues, but managed to return to round 16, but Mauricio, who produced an assist with Al Arie, managed to replace Rafael Beiga in the middle.
“Unfortunately, Anibal can’t play,” Ferreira said, adding that Emiliano Martinez is likely to replace him. “Maybe he will recover for the next game.
“Emiliano is the one who plays in the left center position and they’re players who have played very well up until now.
“I’m sure the people who play because they really want to do it. Everyone wants to play. We don’t have all the players in it yet.”
Defenders Ian Frey and Marcelo Weigant have doubts about Miami after both suffering from problems with Porto, but goalkeeper Drake Calendar has a hernia problem.
Midfielder Yannick Bright and defender Gonzalo Lujean were injured.
