iOS 19 Wishlist: What our authors and editors want to see in the next iPhone update
Apple’s global developer meeting is set up June 9thIf you are expected to announce the next version of the iPhone operating system, iOS 19. iPhone The second half of this year.
In the meantime iOS 18 Bringing some useful new features to all iPhones RCS Messagingand Apple Intelligence The new iPhone is betting on what Apple includes in iOS 19. Report It suggests that Apple is planning a critical redesign of its iPhone OS, changing everything from icons, apps, menus and more. However, CNET authors and editors have some ideas to see in future OSs. Some things we’ve been looking for in the past Customizable Lock Screen Controlswhich has come to fruition, so we may be able to reach the mark again this year.
The following is hoped that Apple will include it in future iOS 19 software.
Bring the split screen to your iPhone
It’s annoying to switch between the two apps all the time.
Add a native split screen. Available at Android phone And iPads for years. However, on iOS you need to run the calculator and budget tracking notes in two separate windows.

I’ll start training right away from my iPhone
Training without an Apple Watch is still a workout, right?
I’d like the ability to start an outdoor workout from the Fitness app on my iPhone (as I can do with Strava and Polar). This way you can record your workouts even if you forget to wear or don’t have one. Apple Watch uses heart rate data To calculate travel, I don’t understand why the iPhone can’t use other indicators like the distance/pace you’re running to provide real training credits.

There are no more green bubbles
Arguing between Green and Blues sounds like a plot line from Game of Thrones.
I’m delighted that Apple has added RCS messaging to iOS 18, but here I have a lot of dreams: love If the Android user’s text is not green yet! It’s great to be able to finally send high resolution media and see typing indicators with people who aren’t using iMessage, but it’s still easy for iPhone users to scoff who turn text threads green. Finish Pettines completely!

Easy way to manage unused apps
Unused apps still feature valuable memory on iPhones.
I have more apps on my iPhone than I use after years of trying and forgetting and installing things. Bypassing everything into the app library will help you keep that in mind, but it’s the app version that holds a box of cables that you might think you’ll need one day. So I want a way to clean up the app, just like how to identify large apps setting > General > Storage. When I install them, the last time I use them and allow me to remove anything I don’t want anymore, I’ll take a look. I know this sounds fiddly, but the idea of going through them all manually is tired so it never happens.

Searchable Clipboard Manager for all your copy and paste needs
The Clipboard Manager remembers multiple copies so you can paste them later.
I want a clipboard manager on iOS 19. This means that your iPhone has a single copy and paste option. This means that if you copy something and then copy another, the first one you copied will be lost. For iOS 19, I would like to see the searchable Clipboard Manager. This is something that has a history of everything you copy into the last hour, day, week, or even month. And once I paste something I’d like to see multiple options that I can choose from, which are displayed on my fingertips.

Other customization options for all screens
Can I move the flashlight controls on the lock screen?
Please give us more customization options for the lock screen, home screen, and control center. I want to place the lock screen control elsewhere on the screen, so I can’t accidentally open the controls that contain misunderstandings. The same thing happens on the home screen. I’m grateful that I can place my app anywhere, as long as it’s within Apple’s suppressive grid that is locked into a small box. If you have a big icon just like me, then there’s an entire empty line at the bottom, and it looks like your apps and folders can go there, but you can’t. Let the air of freedom breathe, Apple! For all good, move the scroll bar to the right of the Control Center. It’s frustrating to use it because it keeps pressing and keeps it on when you open the Control Center and takes you to a page you don’t intend to use it.

Long press, double click, and other action button triggers
Action buttons are already small and useful tools, but there is more to it.
There are action buttons on more iPhones, so add support to trigger different shortcuts with multiple presses. In the current setup, you can set action buttons to trigger one action at a time. By default, you can toggle between turning on the ringer and putting the iPhone in silent mode. However, there are many other options, such as opening the camera app to take photos, allowing you to create elaborate automations that you can use with the shortcuts app. Order coffee from Dunkin.
However, if Apple adds support for multiple input clicks, the action button could do more. It could be a ringer/silent mode toggle using one long press, but do something else (like turning the flashlight on/off) with double press. This adds so many features to the button, and as a result, I think it’s open because more people are using it.

Better log video editing tools
You can already shoot log videos on your iPhone. Now you need to better edit these video editing tools on your device.
I would like to add a better editing tool for log video to iOS 19. The ability to directly shoot log footage on your iPhone is surprising to any enthusiastic filmmaker like me, but it can only be edited by transferring your phone to your iPad or MacBook. We hope to bring you a deeper editing tool to allow you to directly add movie color grades to your iPhone log footage.

Intelligently organize your photos by event with the Photos app
Creating an album manually takes a lot of time and effort.
Now, I’m pleased that in iOS 18, Apple has improved its photo search by adding AI image recognition to actually display all images of cats. It makes up a bit of the questionable, improved layout of the photos and albums that confuses me today. In iOS 19, if you have a new way to display photos in the Photos app, you’ll find it in an intelligently organized timeline for each event. Let’s say you go to the park for your birthday and have obviously lots of photos from the same occasion. The app will make sure they are all connected, ask for a title, and ask for events to be logged in the boom. After that, I was able to see the vertical timeline of log events over the past few months or years. All of these can be searched if I don’t remember exactly when I last went to the park. Yes, I can do this manually by making an album, but it’s kind of gross labor that I can’t bring myself to catch up. That’s what I want AI to do for me.

Simple volume control for the entire iPhone
Apple, please keep the volume settings I want.
Sometimes it is the small changes that can help you with a smoother experience. I’d like to see Apple clean up the volume control. If you set the volume to a certain level, you want all applications to stay at that level. Sometimes the settings may vary depending on what you are doing. Often I come across the issue of lowering my volume to prepare to hear something, and it’s surprising! – Now that I put the headphones in, the volume gets bigger again, maintaining the larger setting I used when listening to music on the headphones. It leads to unnecessary frustration and makes the user feel that they are not actually in control of their device.
