iOS 26 brings new liquid glass redesign.
in WWDC 2025Apple has announced iOS 26. This has rebranded a new version of the iPhone-powered software.
With the announcement of the next version of iOS, Apple has determined that iOS’s future will be brighter and more translucent. It features a new look called liquid glass, which takes the visual properties of glass similar to the VisionOS interface of Vision Pro. And how do you know that it is the future? The next iPhone system is iOS 26 and has been renamed to match next year as part of the rebranding of the entire lineup to bring symmetry to system names like the Macos 26 and Watchos 26.
More than a decade of flat and clean user interface – After improvements introduced in iOS 7, the iPhone has gained a new look when former Apple chief design director Jony Ive took over the software and hardware design. The new designs are spread across the entire Apple product lineup, from iOS to Watchos and even TVO.
Using liquid glass, notifications and buttons are glass panels on the home screen.
Translucent is a critical feature of liquid glass, acting like real-world glass and in a way that deals with the light and color of objects behind and nearby. But it doesn’t just look like glass. The “liquid” portion of a liquid glass refers to how the control merges and adapts – in Apple’s word, it morphs dynamically. The docks and widgets have now become rounded glass panels floating above the background.
Apple obviously created many physical glass designs when it came up with the new Liquid Glass Interface.
Camera and Photo apps are even more minimal
The camera app is getting a new simplified interface. It can be argued that the current camera app is fairly minimal and is designed to frame shots quickly and press the large shutter button. But the moment you enter the periphery, it becomes a strange mix of hidden controls and unintuitive icons.
Camera apps are less and less distracting.
Today, iOS 26 camera apps feature a “new, more intuitive design” that extremises minimalism. The streamlined design shows only two controls: video or camera. Swipe left or right to select a mode. Swipe through settings such as aspect ratio and timer and tap on additional settings.
With the updated Photos app, it should be better to view photos to capture. A welcome change that customers have fascinated Since the messy attempt at iOS 18. Instead of a long, hard-to-discover scrolling interface, the photos regain the liquid glass menu at the bottom of the screen.
Photo app is welcome.
Phone app will be improved
The phone app holds it more closely than the others, up to the appearance of its source. It’s a spare interface with large buttons, as if it were holding an old-fashioned headset or a phone in front of a smartphone. iOS 26 will be updated in the end so that it can be seen with a new overall interface as well as an integrated layout that utilizes the larger screen real estate of today’s iPhone models.
However, it’s not just the appearance that makes them different. Phone apps are trying to be more convenient to handle real calls – what you want to take. The call screening feature automatically answers calls from unknown numbers and only rings if the phone shares the reason for the call with the phone.
Or how about being wasted all the time? Hold Assist can automatically detect music and mute music, but keep the call connected. When a live agent becomes available, the phone will ring and let the agent know that it is available immediately.
Update your message
The messaging app is probably one of the most commonly used apps on the iPhone, and Apple on iOS 26 has become a more colorful experience. You can add backgrounds to the chat window, including dynamic backgrounds that show off the new Liquid Glass interface.
In addition to the new look, group text in the message can include a vote for everyone in the group to reply. Other members of the chat can also add their items to the poll.
More useful is the ability to better detect spam text and screen unknown numbers. So the messages you see in the app are what you want to see and not distractions.
Safari breaks out of its own way
In the Safari app, Liquid Glass Design floats in the tab bar above the web page (it looks correct where the thumb is, but it would be interesting to see if you can move the bar to the top of the screen). Scrolling will shrink the tab bar.
FaceTime focuses on calls rather than controls
FaceTime also gets a minimal look and keeps controls out of the way in the lower right corner that disappears during a call. The FaceTime Landing Page has a contact poster that contains video clips from previous calls designed to make the app even more attractive.
FaceTime minimizes controls in one corner.
Last year, iOS 18 brought many ways Customize your iPhone experience. You can rearrange the app icons on the home screen if the grid is less rigid than before. Finally, you can change or remove app buttons on the lock screen, customize the Control Center to include the required controls in the order that suits you.
iOS 18 also introduced iPhone Mirroring Redesigned Photo App (had mixed reception), ability to hide apps for privacy, new Password app This will collect all your logins and PassKeys in one location.
If Apple is perfect for the regular timeline, the completed version of iOS 26 will be released in New in September or October iPhone 17 model. In the meantime, developers are expected to access the first one Developer Beta Starting today, within a few weeks, the first public beta has arrived. (Don’t forget to introduce the beta software Eyes and clear expectations. )
