The iPhone 16E and iPhone 15 Pro come with a 6.1-inch display, but the Pro offers a few more perks.
screen
The iPhone 16E and iPhone 15 Pro feature the same 6.1-inch screen size with similar display resolutions, but still have some differences. The iPhone 16E runs at a refresh rate of 60Hz, like all non-pro models, and can reach peak brightness of 1,200 nits. There is also a similar display notch iPhone 14and not support Dynamic Island This provides contextual information about other iPhone 15 and 16 models. It is functional and should work fine whether you’re using your phone indoors or outdoors, but the Pro screen has some additional perks.
The iPhone 15 Pro (see here on the 15 Pro Max) contains a dynamic island around the display cutouts.
The iPhone 15 Pro’s display runs at a variable refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz, and can be changed based on the activity you are running. Scrolling through the website, playing games or games that benefit from smoother animations, you can expect to see a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The display also includes a dynamic island that hits peak brightness of 2,000 nits (outdoor) and shows information such as countdowns around the space of the cutouts of music players and front camera displays.
Both the iPhone 16e (see here) and the iPhone 15 Pro can play more graphical games, such as the Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Processor
The iPhone 15 Pro has an A17 Pro chip. It is a 6-core CPU with two performance and four efficiency cores, perfect for graphics and gaming. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16e comes with the latest A18 chip, giving it more power and speed. In fact, the A17 Pro is still a very capable chip and will be useful for you for years to come. However, the A18 chip may receive software and new feature updates for a slightly longer period of time. Both processors can run Apple Intelligence and more advanced iPhone games Resident Evil 4 Remake And the plot of death.
The iPhone 16 has a cleanup tool that lets you remove unnecessary elements from your photos.
Apple Intelligence
One of the biggest highlights of the iPhone 16E is its support for Apple Intelligence. This was previously only available on high-end Apple products such as the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16. Apple Intelligence offers many benefits, including smart lighting tools, cleanup tools that remove unnecessary elements from photos, and Siri potentially clever in future updates. As mentioned before, the iPhone 15 Pro had this from the start, so in this department the two are pretty equal.
The iPhone 16E has one main camera with 48 megapixels.
camera
The biggest visual difference between the iPhone 16e and iPhone 15 Pro is that the latter has three cameras rather than one. The iPhone 15 Pro comes with a 48 megapixel wide lens, a 12 megapixel ultrawid lens, and a 12 megapixel telephoto lens with a 3x optical zoom. It also has a large 48 megapixel sensor that is extremely useful in low light. On the other hand, the iPhone 16e only has one 48 megapixel rear camera. You need to rely on actuating the sensors to improve zoom-in shots. Both have a 12 megapixel front camera.
The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have three cameras on the back.
charging
Another drawback of the iPhone 16E is that it does not support Magsafe wireless charging and is only compatible with Qi charging capped at 7.5 watts. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro supports 15 watts of Magsafe charging. Not only can you do wireless charging at twice the speed, it also supports the full range of magnetic accessories that the iPhone 16E cannot use unless there is a third-party Magsafe compatible case.
Both phones use USB-C for wired charging, and Apple says that if you plug it into a 20-watt adapter it can charge the battery to 50% in 30 minutes. In CNET review tests for iPhone 16E and iPhone 15 Pro, both phones were slightly better than this. The iPhone 16e was recharged from 0% to 59% in 30 minutes, with 15 being updated to iOS 17.0.3 before being charged from 0% to 62%.

Pricing (and notes on renovated purchases)
Obviously, the iPhone 16E offers a low price at just $599. However, Apple is now officially selling the renovated version. 15 Pro for just $759which is cheaper than the $799 iPhone 16. Certainly, it’s more expensive than the 16E, but the extras on the Pro may be worth a higher price for you. Plus, while there are issues with buying phones in the secondary market (the phones aren’t necessarily in excellent condition), Apple’s officially renovated program has a great reputation similar to buying new products.
