Is Canelo Alvarez bypassing his candidate?

There are 39 stops from WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF super middleweight champion Saul ‘Canero’ Alvarez, 62-2-2 and Guadalajara, Mexico, and WBO interim super welterweight champion Terrence “Bud” Crawford, who will defend Omaha’s 31-0 stop at 41-0. Vegas, Nevada.

Alvarez defeated the super middleweight contender in his final four fights. This included defeating German IBF champion Cuba William “domable” Skull, 23-0, 23-0, and Saudi Arabia’s super middleweight candidate in Riyadh, in May.

Previously, Canelo defeated the chosen Berlanga 22-0. Jamie Munguia, 43-0, Jermell ‘Iron Man’ Charlo, 43-0, all super middleweights.

Crawford never surpassed 147 before his final battle in August 2024. WBO Interim World Super Welterweight Champion Israil “The Dream” Madrimov scored 115-113 and 116-112 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

So, coming in September, it took 13 months since Crawford had his final fight, and if he turned about 154, Canelo would probably give up 13 pounds if he was 167 in his final fight.

Currently 37 years old and former lightweight, light welterweight and welterweight champion, Southpaw Raford should be a major underdog to the 34-year-old “Canero.”

Canelo has not lost to Dimitrii Bivol 19-0 and 24-1 since May 2022.

Has Crawford won the title fight at the super middleweight division, or is he looking for a big pay day that “Canero” appears to bring to the fight?

“I got style, I got skills, I got the heart. I’m not going to sit with Canelo and play games because he won’t play games with me. That’s going to be a good fight. Ring Magazine.

“I have absolutely no hostility towards Canelo. I’m a Canelo fan. I’ve seen him for a long time,” Crawford said.
