Is Canelo Alvarez cashed? Rory Romero says the Battle of Crawford proves it, Benavides ignored
Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero denounced Canelo Alvarez in an interview, and his fight against the 147-pound Terence Crawford is an example of how the Mexican star cashes before he retires.
Is Canelo chasing money?
He says Canelo is fighting only to “make cute pennies” and doesn’t care about his legacy. Romero added that Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 Kos) should fight David Benavides, not Crawford. Rory believes Canelo and others like him are hurting sports by focusing on money.
“Isn’t this a Canelo cash out?“Rolly spoke about Canelo Alvarez’s fight against Terrence Crawford. “At least Crawford is fighting for his legacy. Canelo is fighting the 147-pounder. Doesn’t that sound like he’s about to cash out?” told Rolando ‘Roly’ Romero. Boxing seconds.
It is clear that Canelo is cashing in his 147-pound battle with Crawford. However, Alvarez has been on one cash-out tour since 2022. The defeat against Dmitry Bibolu changed Canelo and turned it into a fighter focused on the easy Gimmy battle for payday.
Since he lost to Biboru after seeing Canelo’s opposition:
– William Skull
– Edgar Berlanga
-Jaime Munguia
– Jermell Charlo: 154 pound gun
– John Ryder
– Gennadiy Golovkin: 40 years old in the 2022 trilogy
Romero: Canelo dodges Benavidez
“He’s trying to do everything he can to make a pretty penny. He’s not fighting for legacy. Why didn’t he fight (David) Benavides? Why didn’t he fight Benavides? That’s the legacy.
Instead of fighting Canelo’s aging 147-pounder 147-pounder cannon, Benavides should have taken the courage to fight the “Mexican monster” Benavidez five years ago, taking away the year-long layoffs and inactive performance that he debuted in 154. All Alvarez should have done was to tell Torki Aralsif that he has no interest in fighting Crawford and that he hopes for Benavides in Las Vegas on September 13th.
There are no issues with Crawford Fighting Canelo, but he should have traveled to 168 and had to do these three tests on fire tests to show that he was worth it.
- David Benavidez
- David Morell
- Christian Milli
“All of these guys are overpaying. They don’t deserve it. Canelo’s case is a little different from the others, at least because he sells tickets and pay-per-views. I hope Crawford cools him down just because he’s rude to the sport.
Canelo’s $150 million Crawford Spectacle
On September 13th, it’s difficult for Crawford to disagree with Rory about taking risks and fighting for real purposes. He rose three divisions for legacy and placed himself on Mount Rushmore in boxing, reaching the highest number ever. The only thing Canelo is fighting for is the $150 million check he receives for the spectacle.
