Is this a retirement? George Cambosos Jr.’s emotional farewell message after Richardson Hitchens’ defeat
George Kambosos Jr. posted a mysterious message to X following his eighth round TKO defeat against IBF light welterweight champion Richardson Hitchens last Saturday night at the theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Kambosos Jr. Tips for Retirement
The language used in X’s emotional post by “The Emperor” Cambosos (22-4, 10 KO) sounded like a farewell, “I always believed in myself” and “Thank you to all boxing fans for all my love and support.”
If this is the end of Cambosus, He retires as a wealthy billionaire And he enjoys his victory over Theofimo Lopez many years ago. It is the only notable victory in the “Emperor” Cambosus’ 12-year career resume.
It is pointless for Cambosos to continue his career. Because he will not receive world title shots or lucrative salaries for notable fighters like Theofimo or Devin Haney. He got a lot of mileage from his victory over Lopez, turning that victory into a lovely retirement nest egg of millions.
Why should Cambosus retire now?
Cambosos, 32, approached 40 last night. I don’t even fight Average-looking Hitchin (20-0, 8 KOs). He absorbed the assault until he was stopped by a body shot of New York-born Richardson, Brooklyn in round 8. Cambosus calls himself a warrior, but he did not fight like that.
He attacked relentlessly in 2021 with George’s career-high victory over Theofimo Lopez. Again, he didn’t do that against Hitchens.
He would have had a better chance if he had blitzed defensive artist Hitchens, who hit lightly from round one. He would still have lost due to his lack of strength and size Huge welter sized hichin. His chances would have been much better than the meek ways he fought. Cambosos bit outwards against some fans labeled heavy bullying.
Hitchens chooses a simple fight
Given that the Australian lost four of his last five fights, it was a disappointment in the Hitchens part that he chose Cambossos to defend his IBF 140 pound title. Hitchens chose Cambosos as his opponent over his #1 IBF candidate. Subriel Matiasshowed what he was. He’s not trying to make his best fight. For Richardson, money is everything.
It’s hard to see Richardson Hitchens as a fake. If he were the real thing, he would fight killers like Matthias, Gary Anchanne Russell, Ernesto Mercado and Keyshaun Davis. After last night’s fight, the only names Hitchens called out were Theofimo and Devin Haney. It suggests he wants to chase after the money and get it before he exposes it. The above fighters, Russell, Mercado, Matthias and Keyshawn, will all defeat the Hitchens.
It’s a tough game, but it’s one of the games I’ve always loved no matter what. I look at myself in the mirror and know that I always believed that I was taking on the absolute best and always chasing greatness. Amazing trophy cabinet, hell of resumes, lots of love and support from…
