Jabra Enhance Select 50R Review: Delicious Price
Despite the rise of competition in In-store hearing aids space, Quality hearing aids It remains stubbornly expensive. Top producers don’t keep their premium prices down, but they quietly introduce cheaper alternatives for consumers within their budgets. The appropriate case is Jabla Strengthen (50R)an entry-level model for the company.
At first glance, the behind-the-scenes 50R looks pretty much the same as Jabra’s other hearing aids. Enhance your choice 300However, the careful investigation reveals some hardware changes, including more curved lines, almost vintage designs, and a little higher weight. At 2.94 grams it is nearly 0.4 grams heavier than the Jabra flagship. Enhance your SELECT 500. A single button on the back of each hearing aid controls the volume (volume on the right, volume on the left) and allows you to cycle through four preset environment programs.
Aside from slight weight gain, all the major differences are under the hood, which correspond primarily to features available on the 300 and/or 500 stripped away from this unit.
A gentle boost

Sound Processing Tech is one of the biggest changes. The 50R has an unsleek audio processor with no spatial awareness that is available with the Enhance Select 300 and 500. The 50R still has background noise reduction and voice prioritization capabilities, but Jabra points out that it’s more suitable for quieter environments than noisy.
The difference in audio quality between the 50R and 300 is noticeable, but it’s hardly deep. Jabra hearing aids have always admired the way they can improve hearing quality calmly and naturally while dulling noise. The 50R is almost the same, with no hiss and feedback, providing organic and leisurely improvements in all kinds of environments, as well as mild crowd noise. (You can also get the standard four modes from Jabra (all, restaurant, music, outdoors) here.)
However, the sound is slightly flatter than 300 or 500 and less than 3D. I have detected this nuance due to years of experience testing dozens of hearing aid models of various qualities. Sometimes the differences between them are very pretty. Again, that’s not a big gap. Most users expect to find spot-on sound quality.
I didn’t think the 50R hearing aid would be very comfortable to wear for as long as Jabra’s other hearing aids, but again, this is a subtle distinction and perhaps a natural result of a slight weight gain.
Another feature that has been peeled off: The Enhance Select 50R supports Bluetooth streaming of calls and music, but also hands-free calling features and Aura Cast Support. This probably doesn’t break a large contract, as streaming through hearing aids is rarely a treatment. It’s not surprising that there’s no real bass response to talk about 50rs, and I’m in favor of most traditional hearing aids, especially Jabra.

Finally, although this is a big one, Jabra’s 50r hearing aids do not include a battery-powered charging case. They only charge via an open-top desktop charger, which requires that power be relayed directly to the unit by connecting via a USB-C cord. It also includes a simple plastic clamshell case, but it does not have power and can be used for protection only. Jabra claims the 50R hearing aids offer 24 hours of running time on a full charge. This appears to be accurate based on my use during testing.
Many of the features remain the same as you find on other Jabra models. The Jabra Enhance Select Mobile app works just like all Jabra products, as well as the 50R hearing aids. Additionally, buyers who choose the $1,195 product will earn Jabra’s top-notch audiology access and warranty coverage three years. (The $995 version removes doctor access and reduces warranty to one year.) The product is also available in the same five colors as other Jabra hearing aid models.
Jabra’s Enhance Select 300, our overall hearing aid pick is $1,695, while the Jabra 500 is $1,995 (both come with a 3-year warranty option). These are key price differences and it’s fascinating to suggest that they’re worth saving $500 and dropping some features that you might not miss. The 50R is a solid product, but by upgrading to the Midrange Jabra 300, most users feel that they will provide better service and will be offered in the future in the future.
