The couple’s wedding planner told Fox News Digital that Bezos and Sánchez specifically instructed them to respect local people and make the most of their abilities.

“As an event organizer who has worked in Venice for over 24 years, I feel an obligation to set the record straight given the widespread misinformation, truth and misconceptions that are circulating about Bezos’ wedding,” the team at Lanza & Baucina Limited said in a statement. “From the start, the instructions from our clients and our own guiding principles were abundantly clear: minimizing disruption to the city, respect for residents and institutions, and overwhelming employment of local people in creating events.
