Jim Cramer, who recently appeared on CNBC’s Squawk on the Street, discussed the disruption in the health sector following the financial results of major health insurance companies that have lowered the Dow Index. Cramer speculates that the outcome of the November 2024 US presidential election was different, and the health sector could face higher government scrutiny. Healthcare stocks were under pressure when they vowed to assume a healthcare intermediary as they were president (then presidential election) late last year.
In December, Cramer had it Warned viewers not to buy some of their biggest medical benefits management peerss. He commented:
“If I were (benefits manager) people, when the presidential election decides he’ll shoot you, as we know for the first time around him, it’s not one shot. There are multiple shots.
However, Cramer’s concerns seemed “tapered” as the months progressed. CNBC TV hosts appear in February after Trump’s oath I wondered if the Trump administration’s Justice Department was ready to take on the American healthcare giant. Cramer’s remarks came in the context of hedge fund manager Bill Ackman advising the stock purchases.
“Again, the law can do something. This idea of creating policies through the Department of Justice is not working. The Department of Justice could not produce (unheard) changes. But that’s what happens. The end was destroyed by the Republicans, but that’s what happens.”
Now, Cramer commented on whether stricter government scrutiny of corporate coding practices could affect their loss rates and drive them higher. According to him:
“Also, he was completely United’s health because Jonathan Canter is an antitrust, justice man. Harris won. I think these guys will be number one in the public enemy, Carl.
