Judge denying Trump administrators’ requests to move cases against Tufts University students

a Federal judge On Friday, the Trump administration rejected a lawsuit that a doctoral student at Tufts University in Turkish, who is being detained by immigration authorities, would be rejected or moved, and instead moved the lawsuit to Vermont.

Judge Dennis Casper denied the government’s request to dismiss the case against RumeysaÖztürk or move it to the Western District of Louisiana.

“The petition raises serious questions regarding her arrest and detention acts, as allegedly allegedly in each of these counts, but before it reaches the merits of the petition, the court must first address the parties’ dispute over its jurisdiction,” Casper’s order states.

“The court has denied the government’s motion to reject this petition or the request to move this issue to the Western District of Louisiana and relies on the “interest of justice.” I’ll forward this issue to the Vermont area.
