Jumbo and Heineken reach a commercial agreement after the price spits out
Dutch supermarket chains Jumbo and Heineken established a commercial agreement and resolved a pricing dispute in the Netherlands earlier this year.
In May, Heineken took Jumbo to court via a retailer who halted orders for some of the brewer’s brand.
“Jumbo and Heineken Netherlands reached a commercial agreement in 2025,” Heineken said in a statement.
The group added: “From Heineken, Amstel and Texels to Afrigem, Dutch consumers can re-access to their favorite beers at Jumbo. Jumbo has been a valuable partner in Heineken, Netherlands for many years and we look forward to continuing our long-standing collaboration.”
In May, Amstel makers said Dutch retailers had suspended orders for “a large portion of our product range.”
“Jumbo ignored multiple requests from Heineken Netherlands as normal and reopened the orders to respect our agreement,” Heineken said.
A spokesman for Jumbo, part of the Global Purchase Group Everest, said Just drink At the time: “Everest and its partners have decided to temporarily buy less Heineken products, as they find the source price Heineken is looking for as high as it is.
Retailers who sign up for Everest and the grand partner will buy partnerships 2023. Everest includes German retail chain Edeca, Netherlands-based Picnic and French retail cooperative Système.

In the court’s decision, the judge concluded that Heineken “is not sufficient basis for granting the claim in these summary proceedings.” A long-term agreement with the brewer retailer ended after joining Buy Alliance Everest on January 31st last year.
It’s not the first time that the owner of the Birra Moretti brand has disputed with Jumbo over prices. 2016Dutch supermarkets claimed that because retailers were too low, Heineken could not provide enough products.
