Sourpatch kids aren’t sour anymore. Or are they?
Gummy Candy The brand announced last week on social media that it had dropped “sour” from its name and would soon rebrand itself as “patch kids.”
“We’ve heard enough. We’ve had enough. ‘You’re not sour enough,’ well, I don’t think we’re sour enough anymore,” the newly named candy said in a statement posted to our social media accounts.
“Effectively, we are no longer kids with sour patches. Instead, we’re giving you exactly what’s right for you.”
There were several announcements made on March 27th on social media, believing it was early. April Fool’s Day mischief.

“It’s not April 1st yet,” one wrote to X.
However, Candy, formerly known as Sour Patch Kids, appears to have not been worried.

“This may seem abrupt, but our decision is final,” the post continued. “We can’t be called ‘not sour’ in comments. You are not grateful for our sourness, so we will get it back. You never know what you have until it’s sour, then sweet, then disappears. I hope it’s worth it. ”
Social media reactions were comical and important.

“Everyone seems salty because of a brand that’s no longer sour,” wrote one commenter.
“The Liar” writes another person who shared a screenshot that showed the brand changed its name on social media but not a verified X handle.

But it seemed plausible enough Candy According to several sources, it was featured as a “Male of Mars” before being rebranded as a Sourpatch Kids in the 1980s.

For days, Candy fans were left with Limbo about whether the flavourful little figures would throw away their sour methods.
However, Candy appeared to be revealing her true self on Tuesday morning, April 1st.

Chicago-based Mondelez International, which owns Sour Patch Kids, did not immediately respond to an inquiry from Fox News Digital for comment.
