Khabib vs McGregor: “If I jump him, there’s a security guard.”
“It was my birthday,” Nurmagomedov said. Hustle Show His views on McGregor’s attitude at previous press conferences.
“I said, ‘I have two weeks left. What’s the point of talking to him now?” We couldn’t even reply in the language he was speaking.
“I mean, if I jumped over him, there’s a million guards out there, and that’s exactly what he wanted. He wanted me to lose control.
“In my head I was focusing on gaining weight and not getting hurt.
“I pushed harder for another 10 days. That was my plan. I had to do it, and I had to gain weight and fight, and most importantly, he had to do it, so we could actually fight.
“Everything else – everything he was saying, especially in America, was free speech.”
Conor McGregor’s press conference: “I had to be there.”
McGregor Insulted in New York with his usual rant-humiliation style, Nurmagomedov called for the “double champion who had no title at the time, where White was “the absolute best” in “mental warfare.”
“When I came in, I already knew. No matter what he said, I’m not going to respond because this is a press conference, not a fight,” Nurmagomedov retorted.
“No one needs to wait.”

“We came here and talked, otherwise please don’t come at all. If you come, don’t say, ‘I respect me’ or ‘I just say good things about me.’
“It’s not just wrong. It doesn’t make sense. Sometimes we see these fake press conferences we have. The guys sit there and say, ‘Don’t humiliate me’ and say, ‘Don’t tell me.’
“In that case, don’t show up. If you come, deal with it. You have to find a way to handle it. There are different approaches. It exploded all over the world, so I had to be there.”
Khabib Nurmagomedov: “Why listen to McGregor?”
Nurmagomedov, who submitted McGregor in Round 4 as part of a lighter governance of almost three years during his undefeated career, said he has the right to leave the October press conference.
“When I had the option of not being there, I took it,” he explained. “I didn’t want to be there anyway. I can’t sit there and hear the guy cursing and forgive him.
“At least, that’s not desirable. You just had to sit there and listen to him for an hour, only three days before the fight.
“I weighed and everything was divided. You went behind the scenes and waited. Everyone was supposed to be there at 2.30.
“According to the schedule and contract, the press conference will run from 3pm to 4pm, and no delays are permitted.
“I showed up and asked if he had arrived yet. They said no and someone said, ‘He’s not gone yet. He’ll probably be late.’
“I said ‘Yeah.’ I know my rights, I read my contract.
“That’s why I’m sitting in the locker room. I didn’t say anything to anyone. And then I say, “When I have five minutes left, I say I’m not doing it.”
“With five minutes remaining, I said, ‘I’ll sit for 10-15 minutes. If he doesn’t show up, I’ll be out.” I said, “I’ll prepare the car.”
“They started saying this, and then I told the producer, “I’m staying until 3.15, then I’m leaving. I’m not there. You can’t hold me.”
“Then he went to Dana. Dana came to me and said, ‘I’ll stay for 15 minutes, then I’ll leave.’ He said, “OK.”
“So I sat there and he didn’t show up. I left. He arrived 30 minutes later.

UFC 229: Khabib ‘Perfect’ vs McGregor
Nurmagomedov’s victory preceded the massive brawl that invaded the crowd at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but the 36-year-old believes he took part in the encounter “in a perfect psychological state.”
“On the measurement, he was acting again,” he recalls. “I thought, ‘Wait – we’ll see each other tomorrow.’
“Everything I did, I realized I did it all right. When we went in and stared at before the fight, when the Ref brought us in, (McGregor) didn’t even look at me anymore.
“Everything he went to that point, he realized it wasn’t working. It stopped working and now he actually had to fight.
“He has to rely on skills and skills rather than psychology. By that point, I was solid, I was there.”
McGregor vs Khabib “beyond sports”
Nurmagomedov doubts whether the UFC event will attract as much attention as its rivalry with McGregor.
The icon known as the “Eagle” considers Spaniard-Georgia featherweight champion Ilia Topria as too many “good guys” to create cross-genre hostility.

“You can say he’s trying to become someone,” praised Topria, Nurmagomedov said. “(equal competition) is possible. After all, MMA is constantly evolving.
“Fighters are getting better and better, but whether someone will generate such interest is another story.
“It’s hard to say for it to surpass the sport. Our fight has crossed the boundaries of MMA. Hopefully we can see a big rivalry again, but in the near future I really won’t see it.
“There’s no one who can generate it. Of course, the UFC pushes it. They need to fill that gap.
“We don’t think of any level of expectation that would break beyond the sport itself. It all happened very naturally, and that exploded the fight.
“It was Dana White who built that fight. It’s all Dana doing. I even said he did a good job.”
McGregor’s Nurmagomedov: “I don’t care”
McGregor defeated Donald Theron and lost a series of battles with Dustin Poirier since being beaten by Nurmagomedov in July 2021.
“I don’t know either,” Nurmagomedov replied when asked for his opinion on McGregor. He accused businessman who frequently promotes his whiskey brand of “constantly drinking” and “always hitting the club.”
“To be honest, I don’t mind. Sometimes I can see the headline or something, and I take a glance at it…it all depends on what lifestyle you live in.”
