Las Vegas gunman kills five people in midtown Manhattan shooting

The only gunman walked to the Midtown Manhattan office building on Monday afternoon, I firedkilling five people, including NYPD officials, then turning the guns themselves.
Speaking at a press conference later on Monday, NYC police Commissioner Jessica Tish has identified the shooter as Shane Tomra, a 27-year-old Las Vegas resident with a history of mental health issues.
Tish said Tamra was driving across the state line. Columbia, New Jerseyshortly before he unleashed the barrage of gunfire.

The vehicle was searched by the NYPD bomb squad and found it was free of explosives. Police said Tamura was believed to have acted alone and there is no longer a threat to the community.
“The history of mental health is documented, according to Tamra, a law enforcement partner in Las Vegas,” Tish said. “His motivation is still under investigation and we are working to understand why he targeted this particular location.”

The building where Tamura entered and fired fire, 345 Park Avenue, is a commercial building that includes the NFL, Rudin Management, KPMG and Blackstone in its tenants.
Documents obtained by Fox News Digital show that Tamura was issued on June 14th and had a five-year carry permit hidden. Tamura also has a license to be a private investigator and committed a misdemeanor charge of trespassing in 2023, which did not lead to robbery.

Early records show that Tamura played football at the Granada Hills Charter in Granada Hills, California, about 25 miles northwest of Los Angeles. He also worked as a security guard at a casino in Las Vegas.

The gunman was armed with a rifle and first fired in the lobby of the buildings at 52nd Street and Park Avenue. He went to another floor and shot a person there, sources told Fox News before going up to the 33rd floor and shooting himself. Police are still looking for motives in Monday’s fatal shooting.
