Lee Zeldin says the EPA makes it easier for people to buy cars
EPA administrator Lee Zeldin details the agency’s push for deregulation, the end of the Biden Management Environment Grant, and US energy policy.

Appearing in Fox Business’s Morning with Maria, Zeldin discussed the changes President Donald Trump would like to do at his agency and his role in overseeing.
“There’s an opportunity here to not only bring back jobs, but also bring more work in the American auto sector,” he said. “So we want to help President Trump of the EPA achieve his mission. His mission is to have been made loud and clear by the American people last November.”

Zeldin also mentioned the billions of dollars the EPA administered to non-governmental organizations at the end of the Biden administration. The money he said was provided to groups along the Democrats.
“You had people who were donors to the Biden administration, the Obama administration, and the Democrats. They were setting up NGOs that didn’t even exist before the Inflation Reduction Act was passed,” Zeldin said. “And as soon as they announced these billions of dollars of money out of nowhere, they created these NGOs and got billions of dollars. They created entities and got $100,000 or $5 million.

Under Zeldin, the EPA recently introduced the issue to the Department of Justice, which has terminated its $20 billion contract, has frozen funds and is investigating fund allocations with the FBI. Zeldin reported that the Power Forward Community, a group linked to Democrat Stacey Abrams, received $2 billion after reporting just $100 in total revenue the previous year.

Zeldin also touched on regulatory reforms and changes that the agency said would spur him Economic Growth.
“It means it’s easier to buy a car. It’s easier to warm up your home. For those looking for employment, running a small business has more opportunities.”
Despite the changes, Zeldin said the agency is committed to protecting the environment.

“We want Americans to have access to clean air, land and water. That’s the first pillar of power in a great American comeback,” Zeldin said.

“But while we’re doing that, we need to pursue unlocking energy control and allowing reform. Make America the capital of the world’s AI. Get those American cars back to work. We’ve made it loud and clear that the American people want this economic relief. And, after all, that’s what we’re talking about here.”
