Let’s talk about the finale and post-credits scene from “Iron Heart”

Two weeks later Disney PlusIronheart aired the season finale during a three-episode drop on Tuesday night. The show didn’t serve as a way of introducing Lili Williams to the Marvel universe, but it brought it to new, so-so new characters that we recognize from comic books and the larger MCU.

In the penultimate episode, Lili, Ezekiel/Joe and Parker face off on their dad’s problems in their own way, the latter placing a gun on his father’s head and grabbing his house and business. He has Ezekiel under his thumb, but he still doesn’t know that Lili is alive. She worked with her family and Zelma Stanton to create new armor, made from parts of her stepfather’s car. Sadly, for her, until the end, she lost her vest and AI assistant Natalie when the magic was uploaded to her suit. It’s a double heartbreak over Natalie’s loss.

Magic has a price, right? That’s what we saw with Dr. Strange. Agatha Harkness And a scar-colored witch.

Still, Riri was led by the finale and planned to take on the bonnet. She wants a cloak for her own reasons. I’m going to break down what happened in the episode of the finale, who appeared at the end, what that all means to the MCU. If you haven’t seen the series or these last three episodes, don’t read any more. Future spoilers.

Parker’s path to the hood and his return

This episode helped open this episode on Parker’s path to devilish contract production, helping viewers understand how he got caught up in the hood and markings of his body. In the past, characters like Sacha Baron Cohen’s Lucifer (“What is your greatest desire?”) have appeared with evil intentions, including his insidious act of eating pizza with a fork and knife. This doesn’t coincide with how they meet in Marvel comics, but we know that Parker is basically selling access to his soul in exchange for money and power.

Amazing

When Lili appears in a pizza spot and fights the food, she has to pass Joe first. She understands crafty ways to override his skills and shut him down. After this, after the careless movements made by Lili locked up Joe, they are not exactly friends, nor are they fierce enemies of the enemy. “Joe is gone. I have millions of dollars of weapons inside me, so I don’t know where to put this rage.” He tells her to deal with the hoodie, letting her know that they’re not finished. What does that mean?

Parker/Hood isn’t too surprised when a fully-lived Lili stands up to him in his loft, but he is thrown out by the use of magic. They fight, his demonic side pops out, and she activates her “emergency protocol” to prevent him from destroying both. Lili appears to have blown her suit and hood away. Parker is fine, and is aiming for a gun at a teary-eyed Lili, intending to shoot her “for John.” But it’s all holograms!

She appears behind him, steals his cloak from him, making him writh in agony and writhe on the floor. “Don’t know what it’s doing to you?” Now, she wants a hood for her design, so this feels a bit hypocritical, but even so, she begs for the hoodie and leaves.

Great pizza and great Mephisto appears

Following the fight with Parker, Lili takes the elevator downstairs to Desperitô’s pizza. The devil eating that unning fork and knife pizza is waiting at the table. He kicks Lili out of her suit and disappears, begging her to sit with her. She realizes that he is the source of the hoodie and he begins his sales pitch about helping her achieve her dreams. “I’ve seen you, I’m rooting for you. I love exceptional, drive, dogged things, so I’d love to see you for a while.

Returning to her underdog complex, he offers to thicken it, help it and build it by adding that he has supported all 100 people on Forbes’ richest list. He then attacked her with a telepathic combo, saying aloud Lili’s own words, “building something symbolic.” Her response? “Yeah, OK, Dormam.”

A laugh in the throat shows that this is not who he tells her that she can call him Mephisto. Yes, it’s Mephisto so many of you have been waiting for ever since Wandavision, Multivers of Madness, Agatha. He’s here and he humiliated everyone that he would think Dormam was moving his cloak. Our excuse.

Eventually, he asks her what she wants, then reads her mind as she remembers her memories with Natalie – the real thing and the AI version. He pushes her to accept his help, assuring that her “catch” is something “she won’t miss.” The camera cuts and ends the interaction before looking at her answer.

The new scene shows a table covered with magical supplies and candles. RIRI analyzes magic seals and mathematical formulas. A voice called her name, she looked up, it was Natalie. Lili says, “It worked!” And for now, about her creation of advanced AI. However, this is Natalie of flesh and bones, returning from death, and they are shocked and confused.

In the flashback, Lili actually shook hands with Mephisto. It was confirmed as she hugged Natalie and saw the black lines craze her arms.

Iron Heart mid-credits scene

A while after the credits roll, Parker appears and walks to Stanton’s store. His head is covered, but there are traces of blackened lines on his face – therefore his demonic connection is clearly not broken.

It’s his first meeting with Zelma, but he wastes no time asking for magical help. Suspicion that she can do more than a trick, he wants to see “what’s behind.” Zelma says, “At least I know you don’t know me yet. But if you’re aiming for it, what about little Abracadabra?” she shruggs and the scene cuts.

What does this all mean for the MCU?

Ah, Mephisto’s presence can go in multiple directions, but don’t forget that this series marks the end of Phase 5. Phase 6 is still in the saga of the Multiverse. So, as long as reality and timeline moves on, there is room for resurrection, shape, dimension hopping, bending reality, and more drama in the universe. Mephisto’s comic book entanglement involves him with Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, Loki, Victor Fondoom (aka Doctor Doom) and other heroes and villains hosts (yeah, yeah, yeah, Moon Night And the scar-colored witch too).

It’s not entirely impossible to see Mephisto make a deal with Peter Parker and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Avengers, Doc Doom, and even Maximoff Twins, can remake this demon’s comic story for the big screen and for upcoming TV shows such as Wonder Man and Vision Quest. Nothing has been confirmed, but it’s time for fan theories to pop up.
