Linda McMahon suggests legal action against officials allowing men in women’s sports

Education Secretary Linda McMahon spoke to Fox News Digital at a tour stop Independent Women’s Forum Bus tour in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Monday.
McMahon is a key figure on the Trump administration’s mission to include trans athletes in women’s and girls’ sports, and has directed the Department of Education to launch some. Title IX Investigating agencies where an incident may occur.
Five months from her position, McMahon is spearheading the creation of a new federal Title IX Investigation Team, working with the US Department of Justice.

Fox News Digital (FND): What is your stance about the concept of criminal prosecution that comes to officials who don’t enforce Title IX and don’t allow (biological) men to compete in women’s sports?
McMahon: “I’ve never actually dealt with that with the Department of Justice, but if the president wants us to look into it, we certainly would.”

FND: When you enter (the next high school sports season), how important do you think it’s that high school athletes are making an effort to demonstrate against Democratic state lawmakers who don’t enforce Title IX?
McMahon: “I think that’s very important. It’s one of the things I said today when I was bringing my comments to this group. I congratulated them on taking that position and encouraged them to continue doing so.
“What makes the difference is having these female athletes who are really very strong and can play in the sport of their choice, but deserve the right to compete with girls.
“And they have to stand up for their rights, and we know that we are standing behind them.”

FND: It’s been four or five months since President Trump signed the executive order (stops men from women’s sports), so what can states (like California, Maine, Minnesota) predict later this year?
McMahon: “They are risking withdrawing federal funds. That’s the main thing on the table. What the Department of Education is doing at the Department of Justice to investigate violations of Title IX, and that’s what we’re doing.
