LinkedIn CEO says AI writing assistants aren’t as popular as they’d expect
According to CEO Ryan Roslansky, LinkedIn users appear to employ AI, but it’s an AI-generated proposal to polish linked posts.
“It’s not as popular as I thought it would. Roslansky told Bloomberg. When asked why, he insisted on posting on LinkedIn that “the barrier is much higher” because “this is your resume.” Furthermore, posting something obviously generated by AI can lead users to face a real backlash.
“If it’s called with X or Tiktok, that’s one thing,” he added. “But when you’re being called on LinkedIn, it really affects your ability to create financial opportunities for yourself.”
At the same time, Roslansky said that while professional social networks have seen a six-fold increase in employment that requires AI-related skills over the past year, the number of users adding AI skills to their profiles has risen by 20 times.
And he said he would use himself when he talks to his boss, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella: “Every time, before I send him an email, I press the co-pilot button to make it sound Satyasmart.”
