Liverpool agrees to Bournemouth defender Kerkez’s £40 million move
Liverpool is on the verge of adding Milos Kerquez to their team on a £40 million move from Bournemouth.
The highly rated left-back is poised to switch to Anfield following two strong seasons with Cherry.
Kerquez, 21, is set to join the Premier League title holder, with Bournemouth bringing Rennes full-back Adrien Touffert in his place.
The Hungarian International signature comes amid Liverpool’s major summer investments. Liverpool is also approaching a record £116 million deal for Bayer Leverkusen offensive midfielder Florian Wiltz.
Additionally, Merseyside Club has already secured service for Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong for £29.5 million from Leverkusen.
Originally born in Serbia, Kerkez began his professional career with the Hungarian side Gyor.

The £40 million transfer fee, long-term agreements and Kerkez were set up for medical care in the coming days.

He later moved to Italian Giants AC Milan, but failed to perform for the first team. In January 2022 he moved to Az Alkmaar in the Netherlands, where his career began to take off.
During the 2022-23 campaign, Kerkez played a key role as AZ finished fourth in Eredivisie. He provided five goals and seven assists in 52 games.
In the same season, AZ reached the semi-finals of the Europa Congress League, but was eliminated by the eventual champion West Ham United.
Kerquez joined Bournemouth in the summer of 2023. It was when Liverpool’s current sports director, Richard Hughes, was still working at the South Coast Club.
The fullback was impressed during his debut Premier League season as Bournemouth achieved the best finish of all time and appeared in all league matches. Kerkez tipped in with two goals and six assists.
So far, the young defender has 23 caps in Hungary, linking with Liverpool’s international teammate Dominique Zoboschlei.
His arrival raises doubts Liverpool’s current left-back future. Andy Robertson has recently linked his move to Atletico Madrid, but Costas Tsimika may also be moving.
Liverpool is accepting that the 31-year-old Scotland International can consider pursuing more regular playing times, but reportedly prefers to keep Robertson and allow Tsmicus to seek opportunities elsewhere.
