Liverpool focuses on Fulham, not on the permutation of titles, boss Arn Slot claims

Arne Slot is not interested in solving the permutation of what Liverpool needs to win the Premier League in its only focus, a trip to Fulham on Sunday.

The Reds have taken another huge step towards their record 20th top flight title Last night’s 1-0 victory over Merseyside rival Everton And you’ll need just 13 points from the remaining eight games to win the trophy.

However, Slot highlighted the difficult nature of the game against Toffee as one of the reasons Liverpool can’t go any further than him.

He said: “There’s a lot of things that could happen in theory. Yesterday, I felt how difficult it was to win a Premier League match. Yes, we won it, but David Moys deserves a lot of credit in how his teams lined up and how difficult it has become for all the teams he’s played since he arrived there.

“If you go eight games, you see that every game is a challenge.

“We’re not working on the theory of points counts. We’re taking on Fulham’s challenges where we need to try our best again to get results.”

Midfielder Jones can continue on the right back

England midfielder Curtis Jones is a surprise inclusion at right back against Everton, and he may re-released the role against Fulham if Connor Bradley is not considered suitable for a trip to Craven Cottage.

“Trent (Alexander Arnold) and Joe (Gomez) won’t be back in the coming weeks,” Slot said.

“Connor (Bradley), we have to wait to see if he’s ready for Sunday. Curtis (Jones) is an option as he did well (right back), but Jarrell (Quanza) did well a few times in that position, so let’s wait and see.”

Slot was also unsure if Allison would return to goal after suffering a head injury while on an international mission with Brazil. Caoimhín Kelleher had side effects on Everton.

He states: “Alison is easy, he has a concussion and he has to check every box.

Vacations aren’t necessarily beneficial

Liverpool is taking a week off after Fulham’s match with 16 ejections from the Champions League at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.

Although it may give them advantages in the title race, slots have rather quickly admitted that his team is still involved.

The Dutch said: “Looking back at the past eight months, do you think it’s a disadvantage, how well you did by playing every three days? But there must have been a moment when there was a week of rest.

“I wanted to play in the Champions League quarterfinals, but unfortunately we played Paris Sengermain, and now this is our situation and I will accept it.

“Players are worthy of a program that plays twice a week, so they need to put in more effort during training sessions. If they don’t put in enough effort in the week, they won’t be able to work hard against Everton or PSG.
