Liverpool Parade: Takes to 27 Hospital
Four children were among the injured and 27 were taken to hospital after cars plowed into the crowd during Liverpool’s Premier League victory parade on bank holidays Monday.
Merseyside Police Advisor Chief Jenny Sims said the incident was not treated as terrorism and is believed to be an isolated incident after the arrest of a 53-year-old man at the scene.
The Prime Minister said he spoke to the mayor of Liverpool about the incident, adding, “No one, especially the children, should be able to celebrate their heroes without this fear.”
At a press conference Monday evening, Northwest Ambulance Service (NWAS) Dave Kitchen said 27 people were taken to hospital, 20 people were treated on site and four children were injured.
He said two people who were taken to the hospital, including one of the children, were seriously injured.

Nick Searle, chief fire chief at Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, said four people trapped under the car, including children, were rescued by firefighters.

Former Liverpool player and manager Kenny Dalglish said: “I was shocked, frightened and deeply saddened about what happened at the end of today’s parade.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to all people and their families affected by today’s tragic events. Our national anthem has never felt more appropriate than ever. You will not walk alone. Your Liverpool family is behind you.”
