Liverpool prepared to leave after the first Alexander Isaac bid was rejected

Liverpool is reportedly willing to abandon Alexander Isaac’s pursuit during this transfer period after the initial £110 million bid was rejected by Newcastle.

Some outlets report that the Reds are not planning to file a second offer to a striker who is valued at around £150 million by the Magpie.

The 25-year-old, who scored an impressive 54 goals in 86 Premier League matches since moving northeasterly from Real Sociedad in August 2022, has been removed from Eddie Hou’s team for Newcastle’s Asian preseason tour.

The club said Isaac’s absence was due to “minor thigh injuries,” but reports soon emerged saying he wanted to explore travel from St. James Park despite qualifying for the Champions League this season.

Swedish International is currently training alone at the base of his former employer in Spain amid continuing uncertainty about his future.

Liverpool is ISAK’s preferred destination and is considered to be the £110 million offer remaining on the table with Premier League champion players.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has already made many additions to his team during a hectic summer of spending by the Anfield club.

Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Armin Pecsi all arrived at the club with an additional total of around £265 million.

Meanwhile, the departure of Louis Diaz, Jarrell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher and Trent Alexander-Arnold recovered the first £115 million.

In contrast, Newcastle failed to pursue several targets this summer. Ekitique had his eyes on the club, but Joan Pedro, Liam Delap, Brian Mbemo and James Trafford all refused to travel to St. James Park.

Tynesiders may want to bring in a new striker, whether Isak will stay with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
