Based on Tony Hillerman’s Leahorn and Chi novels, Darkwind continues on to Joe Leahorn (played perfectly riveted by Zahn McLanon) and his Navajo police team investigate cases of small towns that sometimes tilt towards the supernatural. It was under the belt for three seasons, and was fourth halfway through, the dark winds left, turning the Western tales of television into their heads. It’s not hyperbolic, but this is probably the best TV show you haven’t seen.

David Blaine: Don’t try and find a magician traveling around the world in search of magic. But it’s not what you expect. What he discovers is not intended for an easily squealing viewer. He makes dangerous efforts, such as covering himself with bees, shoving a steak knife into his nose, and jumping off the bridge while setting fire. In the first season of six episodes, he travels to places like Brazil’s largest feather and the bee farm of Southeast Asia. This is the first time since Anthony Bourdain passed away. This is what I’ve seen a travel show with such a unique voice and edge. It’s addictive. The viewer’s discretion is undoubtedly advised.

Marvel TV

Throughout the nine episodes of the first season of this series, it felt like another thread wondering if the storyline crossed or where the story was heading. However, the finale combines it all together with the burnt earth (a beautiful sight), with Daredevil choosing to fall, and Kingpin surprised us all with his wild nasty. There are no complaints about the loose ending here – we know who killed Hector Ayala and why the port is so important – and we’re sure Season 2 is perfectly set up to have more nail biting scenes. You can boldly make everything Daredevil season 1: Born on Disney Plus.

Lucasfilm Ltd

In the first season, Andr solidified as an example of great Star Wars storytelling. Above everything else Disney Plus released in the Star Wars universe, the series follows the events leading up to the 2016 Star Wars attack on the Death Star in Rogue One. This is a thoughtful, cinematic quest for classism, protest, and revolution. Certainly, it’s fiction. However, in these chaotic times, Cassian-Ann Andor’s struggle is surprisingly foresightful. We’re mid-season so stick to the rest of May episodes.

Kenny Laubacher/Max

The latest in the standout comedy series, Emmy went to a more hilarious hack than ever. Season 4 of Max Show finds main character Jean Smart’s Deborah Vance and celebrates her own important achievements, a late-night hosting gig. Beating the audience was never easy. And her frequent collaborator Hanna Einbinder’s fallout from AVA’s choice, was made at the end of season three, adding another layer to the chaos. Whether they’re throwing witty barbs at each other or they’re there at a critical moment, Ava and Deborah are still endlessly observable pairings.

Liane Hentscher/HBO

For me, our last one was the Walking Dead. Season 2, a popular post-apocalyptic video game series, is just three episodes and is perfect for the bone marrow of what makes the program top-tier entertainment. With brave performances, heartbreaking writing, gorgeous cinematography and terrifying make-up effects from Bella Ramsey, Pedro Pascal, Gabriel Luna and Kaitlyn Dever, we put the series alongside things like Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad. Yes, I said that.
