Madison’s goal gives the Spurs lead against the “static” Red Devil
James Madison marked his return from injury in the 13th minute opener Tottenham against Manchester United Sunday – and former Red Devils captain Gary Neville was not impressed with the visitors’ defense.
Playmaker Madison slotted when goalkeeper Andre Onana was only able to accept Lucas Bergval’s angled drive into his path at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“United’s defense has become too narrow,” Neville told Sky Sports. “Onana pushed it into a dangerous area. (Matthijs) De Ligt, (Harry) Maguire, the rest was static.”
