Mamdani’s main victory in New York does not mean that young people are anti-capitalists

I tried to find out if C-Suite executives should be worried. In short: No. It was an overwhelming answer from Gen Z members and those studying them in the business and politics world.

But young people have the demands of their leaders: pure integrity. “I think a lot of historical communication in politics, business and more is built on the Mirage,” said Ziad Ahmed, 26, of Z Z-Focused Marketing Advisory Practice at United Talent Agency. This isn’t going to cut it, Ahmed said: “If the world is burning, say it’s burning. In fact, don’t say you might like heat.”

HR Leader, Note: Transparency and fairness are important values for Gen Z workers, said Charlene Li, author who advises businesses on digital transformation. Leaders need to clearly state how success is measured and provide concrete opportunities and financial compensation to employees who meet these measures, she says. Additionally, she advises business leaders to look at the demographics of who gets promotions and pay raises and think critically about the company and C-Suite.

“Variety of background thinking is the number one driver of innovation,” she told me.
