Manchester United manager Reuben Amorim says his side has made “a lot of mistakes” between them 4-1 thrashing at Newcastle Saturday – and club legend Roy Keene believes the boss was “shocked” by the lack of quality of his team.
Three goals in under 29 minutes of 29 seconds doubled United for the Magpie for the first time in 94 years, leaving Amorim’s side with points closer to the relegation zone than fourth.
“It’s a really bad moment, but it proved that I can get up and play again,” Amorim told BBC Radio 5 Live. “They were obviously better than us, but we made a lot of mistakes that helped our opponent build confidence and achieve our goals.
“We’re making things better, but sometimes there are bad moments and we lose confidence. When things go bad, we don’t control the game.”
