Marciano’s comeback is undefeated even after resigning

In June 1954, undefeated heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano defended the title against former champion Ezard Charles at Yankee Stadium in New York.

The first round was Rocky. Charles was a very good fighter. There was a sharp chopping right from Charles, who opened the cut in Marciano’s eyes. By the fourth round, Marciano had wiped blood from his eyes. Marciano’s body had been assaulted, but he was hanging there. Marciano’s granite jaw took everything Charles gave him to the plate for a man twice as much experience.

Marciano’s left eye cut continued to bleed. Charles will push Marciano back while he is in the clinch. Marciano landed an uppercut and rocked Charles. Charles’ mouth was spewing blood from Marciano’s left hook. As Marciano was as solid as a rock, Charles was beginning to get tired.

A combination from Marciano on the jaw rocked Charles, continuing to push Marciano away with a clinch. Charles’ cheekbones bulged.

It was the last round that Marciano had tide since the 10th round. Charles was still trying to keep him from being knocked out, and was holding onto his grip when he was nearby. Marciano continued his attack and attempted to knock out. It may have come down to the final round, knowing that Charles won the first half of the fight. For the first time in the 15th round, Charles Back touched the ropes, showing how exhausted he was. Then the decision came. 8-6-1 Marciano. 8-5-2 Even number. Marciano 9-5-1 Marciano is still the world champion.

In September they had another rematch at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Marciano defeated Charles in the second round. In the seventh round, Marciano’s nose was severely amputated. The Ring doctor told him that he had only one round left, or that he would stop the fight. In the next round, Marciano dropped Charles again and ended the fight.

Looking back at the other comebacks, he fought “Jersey” Joe Walcott for the title. Walcott went into the rounds 4-7, 4-8, 5-7 after 12 rounds. In the 13th round, Marciano landed the chin rights, completely changing the face in Walcott’s shape, and he went for the count.

In September 1950, Marciano won a split decision via Roland Rust Alza at Madison Square Garden with a score of 5-5, 4-5 and 5-4. Due to New York’s scoring system, the judge (not a judge) won the decision with Marciano 9-6. Last Alza went down in the fourth round, and Marciano lost points in the eighth round due to a low hit.

In September 1953, when Marciano was the champion about three years later, they had a rematch. Marciano went ahead twice in two times with a score of 5-1 and 6-1, knocking out Last Alza in the eighth round.
