Marcus Rashford returns for preseason training at Barcelona, Manchester, Manchester United
Marcus Rashford is set to return to Manchester United to begin preseason training on Monday despite continuing uncertainty about his long-term future with the club.
The 27-year-old forward spent the second half of last season renting out at Aston Villa.
At the time, Amorim expressed clear dissatisfaction with Rashford’s attitude and commitment, saying, “I couldn’t train Marcus in the way I saw how I should be playing football.”
The remarks are a harsh reflection of the collapse of their relationship, and sources close to Rashford have since shown that it is very unlikely that he will play again under the Portuguese coach in April.
Nonetheless, Rashford is currently expected to report his mission at Carrington when United’s preseason begins.
People close to England International have insisted he has no issues returning home and are committed to fulfilling his duties in preparation for his busy summer schedule, including a friendly match against Stockholm’s Leeds on July 19th.
Rashford joined Manchester United’s academy at age 7 and spent 20 years with the club, scoring 138 goals in 426 senior appearances.

Liverpool has already closed doors to both Barca and FC Bayern in recent weeks. It’s not an easy thing.

His loan spell at the villa saw him contributed four goals and six assists on 17 outings under Unai Emery. Despite speculation surrounding his future, United has yet to receive a formal bid, but they are believed to treasure him for around £40 million.
Last month, Rashford caused further conspiracy in his intentions when he publicly admitted he wanted to play with Ramin Yamal for Barcelona.
At the time, the comments looked speculative, but recent developments in Spain gave it to a new context.
Ambitious moves for the winger of Barcelona athletic club Nico Williams collapsed until 2035 by signing a long-term extension of 21 years.
With the top attack targets off the table, Barca is forced to rethink their options, and Rashford has reappeared as a potential candidate.
However, Liverpool’s Louis Dias is currently the main focus of the Catalonian club.
Head coach Hansi Frick has been a longtime admirer of Colombian wingers, but Barcelona’s financial restrictions mean that trading can prove difficult unless you can raise important funds through the sale of players.
If Liverpool refuses to leave him or leave him out of reach, Barcelona is expected to return to Rashford, where they remain eager to new challenges overseas.
Compared to other targets, there was a lack of attacking attack pedigrees, so there was no transfer fees within reach. He is considered a substitution for some within the Barca hierarchy, especially given United’s openness to negotiations.
