Mavericks coach Darrell Armstrong has been arrested on aggravated assault charges
Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Darrell Armstrong was arrested early Saturday and charged with worsening attacks on his girlfriend, police said.
Dallas police officers were called to the 1000 block of Ross Avenue. Downtown Dallas At about 3:45am, an investigation revealed that Armstrong and his girlfriend were having an argument.
At one point, Armstrong slammed her with a gun and threatened to shoot her, police said. Armstrong’s arrest warrant affidavit Fox 4 Dallassaid the incident began when his girlfriend asked him about texts from other women.

The victim reportedly told police he was drinking that night and asked her to give him the key to the apartment. She then claimed that Armstrong was on the phone with another person as he picked up the pistol and hit the side of his face.
Authorities said there was a mark on the woman’s cheek under her left eye.
“I’m going to shoot you,” the victim said. He reportedly quoted what Armstrong said to her when he loaded his weapon.
Mavericks A statement was issued Sunday afternoon regarding Armstrong’s arrest.
“The Dallas Mavericks are aware of the incidents involving members of our staff and collect all relevant information surrounding the incident,” the statement reads, according to Fox 4 Dallas. “We take this issue seriously, and our employees are placed on administrative interruptions as the results of legal proceedings are pending.

“This issue is currently under review by appropriate legal authorities. This fact allows legal proceedings to carry out the course and refrain from further comment while the proceedings are underway.”
Armstrong has been an assistant coach for the Mavericks since 2009 and was part of the 2011 NBA champion team.
He is a member of Orlando Magic The Hall of Fame spent nine of its 14 NBA seasons in the franchise. Armstrong first played overseas from 1991-94, and during the 1994-95 season, Magic gave him a shot.
Armstrong averaged 13.8 points, 6.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 50 games, and then won the 1998-99 Most Improved Player Award and the Sixth Man of the Year Award.

Armstrong also played for the Mavericks, New Orleans Hornets, Indiana Pacers and New Jersey Nets during his career that ended in 2008.
