Mel Gibson joins in an effort to remember Gov. Gavin Newsom
Mel Gibson California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass accused them of being involved in the Pallisard and Eton fires that devastated the Southern California community.
Gibson joined in his efforts to save California for a press conference in Altadena on Wednesday, and to remember Newsom.
“We’re much better and there’s absolutely no proper excuse for the governor or mayor to do this crude mismanagement and what they can’t preemptively address what they’re coming,” Gibson said, referring to Newsom and Bass, according to the KTLA.

Eton and the Palisades devastated the Palisades in the Altadena and the Pacific Ocean. Gibson was one of the thousands who lost their homes in the Pallisard fire that broke out on January 7th.

“Was it incompetent? Was it indifference, complacent, careless? Was it negligence? Absolutely,” Gibson added.

When he appeared in “Honity” in January, Gibson explained why some celebrities chose to stay in California while packing their bags.

“A lot of people left, and I’m not blaming them. It didn’t suit them anymore. Even if they were liberals, it didn’t suit them anymore. But if everyone left, what would happen?” the actor said.
Gibson’s comments come as Fox News host Sean Hannity left New York due to “crime…high tax…burdening regulations” and shared that he had “no intention.” The “Flight Risk” actor agreed that several A-listers had fled for the same reasons.

Despite being on the same page as the Fox News host, Gibson vowed to work with the president in what Trump called “very troubled” Hollywood.
“(People) go somewhere else because it’s more cost-effective. There are a lot of prohibitive regulations and things in ways I think can be lifted. … But I think that can be fixed.”
Shortly after Trump took office, the president, along with Gibson, John Voight and Sylvester Stallone, “Special Envoy” to Hollywood.

Gibson has promised to meet with other Hollywood ambassadors to discuss the plan and “educate” himself.
Gibson believes that when Trump denounces Newsom, he will “get some results here.”

As a special envoy to Hollywood, the “Braveheart” actor will focus on tax incentives as Gibson claimed Newsom’s plans were “not working.”

“I know Newsom gave some tax incentives, but that may not be enough because it’s not working yet. There are other things that offset that,” he told Hannity at the time.
