Melania Trump, America’s First Lady, opens White House Gardens to Visitors and Guests

“Since the 1870s, most presidents have planted commemorative trees during their tenure,” the National Park Service says. “The White House gardens are constantly changing with the seasons and administration.”

Nicholas Clemens, communications director for First Lady’s office, told Fox News Digital, “We are proud to continue the long-standing tradition of spring garden tours by inviting the public to enjoy the beauty and history of the White House grounds.”

“It’s a special opportunity that visitors of all ages experience garden It is cared for by dedicated staff and enjoyed by the first family of generations,” he added.

Sunday’s tour also provided a last chance to see the southern magnolia trees, which are said to have been planted by President Andrew Jackson.

President Trump Recently, he said the tree is in “bad condition” and needs to be removed due to the safety hazards it presents.

The Jackson trees were seen being supported by wires on Sunday to ensure the safety of both the building and visitors.

The White House is partnering with the Trust for the National Mall to raise private donations and recruit volunteers for the tour.

Julie Moore, a spokesman for the National Mall Trust, told Fox News Digital that she will be able to help with the partnership and “help the iconic White House Garden all year round.”
