Meta’s Oakley Smart Glasses come in Ray-Ban, Watchout and 3K Video
When Meta starts up That second generation Raven meat Smart Glasses In the second half of 2023, few predicted success moving forward for collaboration.
However, with more than 2 million sales now, Meta is looking for ways to expand its partnership with Esilol Luxottica, the owner of eyewear giants and Ray-Bans, to maintain momentum. The answer seemed to be staring at them in the face. This is a collaboration with Oakley, the company’s second largest brand.
“We’ve set up Second generation Alex Himel, vice president of wearables at Meta, told Wired. “But it wasn’t the only thing I’ve done at Essilorluxottica.”
“We found that people are leaning towards different active use cases (Ray-Ban Meta), so Oakley, a brand that represents both performance and innovation, felt like the most natural next step in collaboration.”
Like the Ray-Ban Meta, the Oakley Meta will be in full smart glasses range, with many styles to choose from as the line expands. However, the first thing I got was the popular Oakley HSTN frame (method and pronunciation), which has all the same meta AI features as Ray-Ban Meta, but with improved features aimed at the performance market.
This includes a 50% longer battery life and a fully charged pair of Oakley Meta HSTNs that are typical for up to 8 hours compared to 4 hours in Ray-Ban Meta. The Oakley Meta charging case also offers a boost in Ray-Ban Meta for 36 hours and up to 48 hours of charging time on the go.
It’s probably even more surprising when you hear that Oakley Meta also has a high-resolution camera and that you can share videos with full HD videos from Ray-Ban Metas. This is all about improving the new physical batteries and software, says Himel, but can Ray-Ban Meta owners expect similar improvements in the future?
