“I’m a soccer fan, but today it’s not for football,” Daniel Fuentes said in Spanish. “It’s not fair what Donald Trump is doing. They’re lifting up people who work by saying they’re not criminals. They’re furious at our Latinos, saying we’re the worst.”
Continuing uncertainty over immigration enforcement in Southern California has flowed onto the streets surrounding the stadium amid uncertainty over potential ice attacks that will affect the game.
Mexican president calls US immigration forces to save fans in LA soccer games
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum urged the US immigration forces in Los Angeles to give fans the blessings of the Mexico vs. Dominican Republic game.
“I don’t think there’s any immigrant behavior in football games… I want the US immigration and customs enforcement agencies to take nothing away,” Sinbaum said at a press conference Friday.
“Mexico will always promote peace,” she added.
Multiple fans of the game said the situation that rocks Los Angeles has reached its peak with such a gloomy mood for Mexican fans of the game.
“When a Mexican team plays, that’s a celebration, right? But no, it wasn’t,” a man called “Elcoronel” told the outlet.
