Miles Garrett of the Browns does not open extension: Report

The 2023 AP Defensive Player of the Year and the four-time All-Pro released a statement earlier this month, saying they wanted to play for the candidate.
But at the beginning of this week Browns general manager Andrew Berry The team insisted they were not interested in swapping the star’s defensive side.
“I can’t imagine the best situation for the Browns to have no Miles,” Berry told the NFL Combine Tuesday.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski added Wednesday that Garrett is part of the “present” and “future.”
Garrett has signed with the Browns for two more seasons under the five-year, $125 million extension he signed in 2020, but he doesn’t guarantee he’s still there.
The Browns are out of the 3-14 season, the worst since Garrett’s New Year campaign, the 2017 0-16 campaign. Quarterback Desshaun Watson struggled strong in 2024, tore his Achilles and ended his season prematurely. He then underwent surgery in January with the right Achilles, questioning availability for the 2025 season.

Garrett made the playoffs twice in his eight-year career. He has double-digit bags in seven consecutive seasons and more than 14 in the final four seasons.
