Missouri prosecutors seek murder charges in the death of Chiefs fan in Kansas City

Missouri prosecutors are trying to upgrade fees for two people arrested in connection with the deaths of three Kansas City Chiefs fan.

spokeswoman for Platt County Prosecutor’s Lawyer’s Office In a statement to Fox News Digital, they confirmed they were attempting to upgrade the fees to second-degree murder from both Jordan Willis and Ivory J. Carson’s involuntary manslaughter charges.

Clayton McGeeney, 37; Ricky Johnson, 38; and 36-year-old David Harrington was found frozen in a friend’s backyard in Kansas City, Missouri, following the NFL Watch Party on January 9, 2024.

Jordan Willis and Ivory J. Carson

Jordan Willis and Ivory J. Carson were charged with three unwilling manslaughter charges and two counts of controlled substances, with the exception of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids of less than 35 grams. Each bill can last up to 10 years. (Platt County Missouri Sheriff’s Office)

Carson and Willis were previously charged with delivering two controlled substances, excluding 35 grams, on a 35 count involuntary manslaughter charge in March. Low in marijuana or synthetic cannabinoids; Court records showed.

Carson is said to have sold and supplied cocaine to Willis, just like the victims. Carson’s DNA is said to have been found in a bag containing fentanyl.

Willis’s lawyer John Piquerno told Fox News Digital that he believes the felony murder law is being misused.

“It’s not unexpected, but we are greatly disappointed with the upgraded accusation. Jordan has remained innocent from day one and declined the government’s offer of pleas. As a result, the government thought it would be appropriate to upgrade the accusation, Picarno said.

Previously, Piquerno told Fox News Digital that he was “shocked that Jordan was charged with the death of three friends.”

“That was contrary to what the prosecutor’s office told me a few months ago,” Piquerno said.

Willis’s lawyer said his client claims he is not. Responsibility for death.

“The causal statements that may have been filed by the state are consistent with what Jordan said. Jordan claims that it is not liable to purchase or supply the drugs that led to the death of three friends. We are very excited for the day when the Ju Court hears all the evidence in this case,” he said.
