The Atlanta Braves Cincinnati Reds The Braves’ 12-11 inning extlining victory on Thursday night at Great American Ball Park combined 16 runs in eight wild innings.

The two teams entered the eighth innings, tied 3-3. Braves Three infield hits began the innings and continued mashing throughout the frame.

They scored eight runs in the top of eight innings against four different Reds pitchers, and did it without hitting a home run.

Meanwhile, the Reds relied on long balls to help them fall into an 11-3 deficit at the bottom of the eighth innings.

The first eight red batters all reached base and hit two three-run home runs. Three-base-handed Kebrian Hayes hit his first home run since being bought by the Reds, and one-base-handed Spencer Steer tied the game 11-11 with a three-run explosion. All eight runs by the Reds were scored before they scored an out.

In total, there were seven pitchers, 25 batters and 16 hits in total between the two teams. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it was the third time both teams had scored more than eight runs in the same inning.

The Braves ultimately won the game in the designated batter’s innings Marcell Ozuna He hit a sacrifice fly at the top of the 10th inning to advance 12-11.

Braves closer Raisel Iglesias pitched a clean bottom of 10 innings to earn his 13th save of the season.

The game between the Reds (57-53) and the Braves (46-62) on Thursday was the first in the three-game series. The next two teams will play on Friday at 12:40pm ET.
