Despite Owen’s heroism, MI New York fought back with regular breakthroughs. Trent Boult (2/38), Naveen ul Haq (2/28) and Sunny Patel (2/37) each pick up two important wickets, consistently threatening Washington’s pursuit of freedom. After the early onslaught, Rachin Ravindra donated from 10 balls from six balls, and Andries Gous was added 10 off 10 off, with Mark Chapman in charge. Chapman made a spectacular unbeaten innings of 45 runs from 32 balls, combining calculated risk with wise batting to guide his team in middle and death overs. Jack Edwards ’30 off 23 balls and Glen Maxwell’s Quick Fire 16 off 5 balls (1 4, 2 Six) were also crucial in keeping the momentum alive. The match remained fine and calm until the end, but Washington’s freedom held nerves. 19.2 overs reach 189 target with 8secures a memorable two-wicket victory.
