Musk forms the American Party after rekindling a bitter feud with Trump
President Donald Trump’s former president, Elon Musk, said on Saturday that he has launched a new political party in the United States to challenge what tech billionaires call the country’s “one-party system.”
Musk, the world’s wealthiest man and Trump’s biggest political donor in the 2024 election, has dropped out violently with the president after leading Republicans’ efforts to cut spending as the so-called government efficiency director.

He soon vowed to launch a new political party to challenge lawmakers who campaigned by reducing federal spending just to vote for the bill. Experts say it will pile up an extra $3.4 trillion on the US deficit over a decade.
After Musk grossly criticised the flagship spending bill, it eventually passed Congress and was signed into law — Trump threatened to deport the tech giant and stripped federal funds from his business.
